Open Participation, Daily Rewards
Umotu is an open protocol where anyone can participate using a smartphone and earn daily rewards for helping secure the network. Rewards are variable and not guaranteed. For orientation only, the protocol is designed around a reference target of about $10/day per active participant at launch, but actual rewards can be much lower (including pennies per day) or higher depending on participation and market conditions.
How is it different?
- No middleman: you interact with the network directly—no account approval required
- Global access: works wherever you have internet
- Self-custody: your wallet, your keys, your control
The Vision
Millions of phones can help keep a public ledger honest. Phones do lightweight checks (like data availability sampling) that make the network more trustworthy.
Umotu takes inspiration from Paʻumotu, a Polynesian language. We use the name respectfully as a reminder to build for everyday people.
