Open Participation, Daily Rewards
Umotu is an open protocol built around three connected ideas: open participation, baseline liquidity distribution, and multi-currency digital payments. Anyone with a smartphone can participate in helping secure the network and earn variable daily rewards. Rewards are not guaranteed. For orientation only, the protocol may be designed around a reference launch target of about $10/day per active participant, but actual rewards can be much lower (including pennies per day) or higher depending on participation and market conditions.
The Three Layers
- Participation layer: ordinary people can help secure the network directly from a phone
- Liquidity distribution layer: successful participation can earn variable daily rewards
- Multi-currency payment layer: supported stablecoins make rewards and payments usable in everyday life
The Vision
Millions of phones can help keep a public ledger honest. But Umotu is not only about security. It also explores whether participation in digital infrastructure can provide modest baseline liquidity, and whether that liquidity can become useful in everyday life through multi-currency stable coins.
Umotu takes inspiration from Paสปumotu, a Polynesian language. We use the name respectfully as a reminder to build for everyday people.
